Dekai Yahukimo, Penkogab3 – One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Yahukimo Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Sunday, 10 November 2024, the Marines Task Forces, especially the Bravo Post led by Second Lieutenant Alter, demonstrated social concern by distributing free packages of basic necessities to some residents of Kokamu Village, Dekai District.
In his emphasis on the Soldiers, the Commander of the Marines Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, conveyed the importance of the Task Forces’ attention to the basic necessities of the community around the Post. Therefore, since its assignment in Papua, the Bravo Post has tried to utilize its assignment time by simultaneously conducting Territorial activities aimed at helping the people in the surrounding area. On Sunday, the Soldiers visited and greeted Kokamu residents for social communication.
While carrying out the task, the Soldiers interacted and communicated with the residents. During the interaction, the Soldiers shared their love by distributing free packages of basic necessities to the residents. Responding to the distribution, the residents smiled and joyfully accepted the packages. After the activity, one of the recipients, Lukas Tabuni, said, “Thank you, Commander Marines. God bless you.”
Upon receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, commended the Marines Task Forces’ initiative to distribute free packages of basic necessities to the Kokamu residents. His words: “The Marines Task Forces’ initiative is a testament to TNI’s commitment to provide the community’s basic need to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region.” This recognition from the highest authority in HABEMA is not just a commendation but a testament to the significant impact of such initiatives on the region’s development.
